You've reached the website for PacBSD, a lightweight and flexible BSD® distribution that provides a base system for use of Pacman package manager.

Our packages match closely to ArchLinux packaging standards where possible. We Currently have official packages optimized for the x86_64 architectures.

New installation images (20170814) are available for download from our packages server with images for both CD/DVD and USB use. These images are based on FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE, with it will bring Mesa version 17 which allows us to offer support for the Wayland display server as well as updated Xorg packages. OpenRC 0.26.2 is now in [testing], as this is a large update from what we had some extra testing is needed before it will make its way into [core]. After upgrading the init system will need to be reloaded. Once the updated OpenRC is active verify that all services that should be running are with # rc-status and re-enable any services that may be missing. Due to one of the package signing key expiring manual intervention is required to update or for new installs. For New Installs For new installs until a new installation image is generated the SigLevel setting in /etc/pacman.conf needs to be set to Never.
